The 3Palms Story:
One day an author with a dream and a manuscript struck out to get his book published. He quickly ran head long into the brick wall called the publishing industry. The joy he felt as he wrote his book and dreamed of the day it would be in the hands of readers was quickly dashed by a cold and uncaring industry. Finally he found a publisher, signed a complicated and confusing contract, and settled for a 10% royalty. Then he waited and waited and waited. Finally it was his time to be published but oddly, the publisher decided on a title for his book that he didn't like. He protested but was curtly explained to that it was not his decision to make. Tail between his legs he acquiesced. What could he do? The entire publishing experience was a mystery, so he trusted his publisher. One day his new book arrived in the mail. What a joyous day it was for him. He read his press release on-line. He celebrated. And then... he was on his own. He expected more from his publisher but there was no more. The publisher had moved on to other projects and alas, he was now just a number. So he hired a public relations expert, he gave speeches, he arranged book signings, he worked hard, and he sold books. But after all his hard work and investment, when all was said and done, he made no money and in fact spent more than his advance on his on marketing efforts while his publisher collected the profits.
As time went on he met more and more authors who had endured the same painful experience. Some were disappointed and some where outright angry towards their publishers. Soon it seemed that every author he met was at odds with their publisher. "How was it", he asked himself, "that the publishing industry had created this much distrust and ill-will among the very people it counted on for its profits?" He knew that it didn’t have to be this way. Great authors with great books deserved to have publishers that cared about them and invested in their books.
One day while having a conversation with some friends he said, "There has to be a better way because the publishing industry just doesn't get it! They are so busy guarding their profits and their secrets that they have forgotten about the books, readers, and authors." At that moment 3Palms Publishing was formed by authors for authors.
Today we believe there is a better way. We believe that we can bring great books to market that benefit the lives of readers while at the same time becoming a valued resource to our authors. We understand that marketing and public relations are the most important components to driving successful books sales and that ultimately it is the author who bears most of this burden. We also recognize that, in the beginning, the publisher has costs and risks for taking a book from manuscript to bookshelf, but after a book as been successfully launched, expenses recouped, and reasonable profits retained, it is the author who must carry on. To compensate for this we developed an innovative, and we believe, one of a kind sliding scale royalty plan that takes into account risks and rewards and spreads profits more equitably between both parties.
We also believe in honesty and integrity. Authors deserve honest and rapid answers to their questions. Sales projections are conservative. Manuscript submissions are treated with respect and turned around quickly. Kindness and respect are the norm and we believe that, in the end, we will become partners and friends, and our authors will rave to other authors about 3Palms Publishing.

"The folks at Palm Tree Press have been amazing. They have been with me side by side all the way and have treated me with respect and kindness. If I could use only one word to describe them it would be collaborative. I always felt like a valued part of the publishing process and they have invested countless hours to teach me the art of book marketing. I could not ask for a better group of people to deal with and frankly, everytime I tell other authors about my experience they don't believe me." - Lucy Adams, author of If Mama Don't Laugh, It Ain't Funny
"Palm Tree Press has been incredible. They return my phone calls, are there for me when I need them, and are so responsive to my questions. They gave me a great start that resulted in strong and steady book sales which have consistently landed me on best-seller lists. I really love their royalty system which rewards me for the hard work I do in getting the word out about my book. Most importantly, they've made me feel like family." - Jeb Blount, author of PowerPrinciples
